Suspected SARS case in China

中国发现SARS疑似病例

China's Ministry of Health has confirmed that a man in the southern city of Guangzhou was being treated as a suspected case of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).

中国卫生部日前证实：在广东省省会广州发现了一名非典疑似病人的这一说法。

The statement, a regular daily bulletin on the disease, said no other SARS cases, either suspected or confirmed, had been announced in China between 10:00am (local time) on Friday and the same time on Saturday morning.

在卫生部的这份声明中表示：就在周五早上的10点之前，SARS病例记录册上并没有发现有“非典”病例的记录，就连疑似病例也没有。而到了第二天的10点钟，则发现了疑似病例。

Hong Kong Television channel Phoenix TV reported the patient is a 32-year-old man who works for a local television station in Guangdong and is being treated at the Number Eight People's Hospital in Guangzhou.

凤凰卫视报道，该名疑似病例患者是一名32岁的当地电视台工作者，目前他已在广州第八人民医院接受治疗。

Guangzhou daily Nanfang Dushi Bao, which first reported the latest suspected case, gave the patient's surname as Luo and said he was hospitalised on December 20.

广州日报，南方都市报都是最先报道这疑似病例的媒体，报道指出：该病人姓罗，他已经从12月20日开始接受了治疗。
