听力原文:
Receptionist (Female): Town hall reception desk. How can I help you?
Resident (Male): Yes, I want to ask about rubbish collection.
Receptionist (Female): Ok.
Resident (Male): Last Wednesday I put the dust bin out, and it was emptied. Yesterday was Wednesday, so I did the same thing, but the rubbish hasn’t been collected yet. Is there a time change for rubbish collection.
Receptionist (Female): Yes. This Monday is a holiday. And due to this reason, the collection has been shifted to Friday, which is tomorrow. You can put out your dust bin just by the road side tomorrow, and there will be people to empty it for you.
Resident (Male): Thanks. I just moved here. And I’d like to know some about rubbish recycling.
Receptionist (Female): We do encourage our town residents to cycle their wastes as much as possible. Now that you are new in town, we normally would give out a welcome pack to new residents. Unfortunately it has run out just recently. But you can always contact the Resident Advisory Unit concerning any questions you may have.
Resident (Male): The Resident Advisory Unit?
Receptionist (Female): Yes. The person you may need to talk to is called Peter Wisborough.
Resident (Male): Peter …what?
Receptionist (Female): Wisborough, spelled W-i-s-b-o-r-o-u-g-h. And the address is 16 Bridge Road, Rivertown.
Resident (Male): Is that two words or just one word?
Receptionist (Female): Just one word. And the post code is PH12PE. You can also call him at *** or send a fax to ***.
Resident (Male): I don’t have a fax machine. I think I can save that. But is there any other way to contact him, say Email or that sort of thing?
Receptionist (Female): Yes. You can write to helpline, one word, at, the keyboard symbol, blackcat, one word again, dot com, without any dots at the end.
Resident (Male): So it’s helpline at blackcat dot com.
Receptionist (Female): Right. And there you can ask them to install a yellow box right in front of your house for your everyday newspaper. And it’s completely free of charge.
Resident (Male): Great. What about the recycling center?
Receptionist (Female): Right. Now back to recycling. There are many recycling centers in town. And the nearest one, I guess, is Central Park.
Resident (Male): Um. What kinds of articles are collected and can be recycled.
Receptionist (Female): There are many kinds. First we have glass, which should be put in the glass recycle bin. But remember, it doesn’t include light bulbs. We have had some cases where people accidentally dropped in some bulbs and ruined the whole glass collection.
Resident (Male): What others? Metals?
Receptionist (Female): Yes. But not crisp packets. Plastics can also be recycled, bottles and stuff. Then it is paper, like newspapers. Remember don’t put magazines in this collection bin, because they use a different kind of paper than newspaper. There is another class of collection for it.
Resident (Male): Can clothes be recycled?
Receptionist (Female): Yes, and textiles. There are many other additional notices to all this recycling, all but to make our town energy and resource efficient. You can find all of them in the booklet you may get when you visit the Resident Advisory Unit. It is called “Save It”.
Resident (Male): Woow. Great. Thanks.
Receptionist (Female): Sure. If you need any other helps, please don’t hesitate to call the reception again. Bye
Resident (Male): Bye.
