　　Alex: Hello, Jack.

　　Kate: Hey. What are you doing? Youre supposed to be asleep.

　　Patient girl: Is she gonna marry him?

　　Kate: What do you think?

　　Patient girl: I dont know. Hes kind of old.

　　Kate: Okay, hes not that old.

　　Patient girl: My moms last boyfriend was bald. He was nice,butmy mom didnt marry him.

　　Kate: No?

　　Patient girl: Theres always something better coming aroundthecorner . Thats what she says. May be thats what that ladyshoulddo. Wait for something better to come around the corner.

　　Kate: Maybe. But if shes not careful, she could spend herwholelife waiting.

　　1. Dedicated (to)

　　这个词本身作为形容词的时候意思是“专注的，献身的”，例如：A dedicated musician 富有献身精神的音乐家

　　不过词组 dedicated oneself to和dedicated...to...的意思分别是“献身于，致力于”和“献给”，例如：He dedicated himself tothe cause of education他致力于教育事业。He dedicated the book to wife.他把这本书献给他的妻子。

　　2. Be supposed to do something.

　　这也应该是一个大家熟悉的表达，意思是 “应该做……”，例如：1）I am supposed to be there atfive. 我五点钟应该在这儿。2）College students are supposed to pass CET-4beforegraduation.1

　　4. Around the corner

　　表示“将要到来”，是一个习语，但是它的本义是“在拐角处”，有时候也引申为“随处可见”。e.g.:1) SpringFestivalis just around the corner. 春节将至。2) Dont know that old ageis justaround the corner. 不知老之将至。

　　在电影 Forrest Gump 中有一句台词是: Bubba was my best good friend. EvenIknow that wasnt something just around thecorner.意思就是“Bubba是我最好的朋友，连我都知道这份友谊是世间难寻的”。

　　可能有人觉得 Keanu Reeves 和 SandraBullock的搭配不够完美。但是这部电影也正因为选角的准确性而使电影更趋完美。也只有经历过人生的成熟男女，才能精准的诠释这一份含蓄的激情。电影拍的简单，唯美，并没有太严重的时空跳跃，因此观众不会看的神经错乱。中间却也道出了现代人生活的空虚。除了工作，生活就没有其他。男女主角对那间湖畔小屋的喜爱正好也反射出了现代城市人对庸碌生活和拥挤的生活空间的厌恶，和对大自然空间的向往和渴望。
