研究证实讨女人欢心新招数--对其女友下功夫

　　男人讨好女人的传统方式除了送花、送巧克力就是送上烛光晚餐。英国最新的研究结果表明，讨好女人还有一种更有效、更廉价而且更简单的方法——对她的女朋友们“下手”。

　　Traditionally men have used flowers, chocolates andromanticdinners to woo a woman. But research suggests that a muchmoreeffective - and cheaper - strategy is simply to give her archenemya wink.

　　For psychologists have confirmed that nothing attracts awomanmore than the scent of competition. The Aberdeen Universitystudyfound that womens opinions of men are often based on howotherfemales see them. And the more admirers the fellow has,thebetter.

　　For the study, the researchers at the universitys FaceResearchLaboratory showed 28 women photographs of pairs of men whowereroughly matched looks-wise and asked which they thought weremorehandsome.

　　They then watched a video of the same men with womeneithersmiling at them or appearing disinterested. When asked torate thephotographs again, the majority of women developed apreference forthe man who had been smiled at by the women in thefilm.

　　Dr Ben Jones, who led the project, said: We tend to thinkaboutthings like attraction as reflecting a private decision orapersonal choice but our work shows that peoplesattractivenessjudgments can be influenced in pronounced ways bywhat other peopleappear to think of those individuals. It isreally the first timethat a phenomenon called social learning -where we learn by whatother people think or do - has been shown toinfluenceattractiveness.

　　Men who took part in the study described the malesreceivingpositive female attention as less attractive than thosewho werenot.

　　Other research has claimed that women are attracted to tallmenfor flings as their looks are a sign of healthy genes, butchooseshorter types as husbands as they feel they are less likelytoattract other women and have affairs.
