Part1
A: May I help you ,ma’am?
B: Yes, thank you. I’d like to buy a blouse.
A: What color are you looking for?
B: I need something to go with a brown skirt.
A: Here’s a pretty green one but it’s not on sale.
B: Well, it has long sleeves. I’d like a short-sleeved blouse with a high neck, if you have one.
A: We have this one in yellow. What size do you take?
B: Thirty-four. Do you have that one in my size?
A: Yes, here is it.
B: How much is it?
A: I t costs $80.00.
B: Oh, my. That’s too expensive for me. Is there any discount?
A: I’m afraid not.
B: Well, I think I’ll look around some more. But I may come back for this one. Thank you.
A: You’re welcome
也就是50% to 90% lower。
When to shop: Visit in January/February or July/August for the end-of-season sales. Prices in department stores may be 50% to 90% lower.
所以对话中这位顾客问道:“Is there any discount?”
Can you give me a little deal on this? Can you give me this for cheaper? Is there any discount on bulk purchases? 还可以说Give me a discount.
tip 3:
Bargain: Most department stores do not allow bargaining, but haggle (7) at the open markets.
look around some more是口语中简便的说法,在这里我们可以理解为look around for some more blouses.
Take your time: Always compare prices! Visit different stores before buying.
tip5:
Look Carefully: Look at the product before paying and make sure you have all the accessories (4). Check the product again after you have paid and before you leave the store (some stores give you a cheaper model when you are not looking!)
Use Cash: Credit cards are more expensive to use.
Look for the logo: Look for QTS signs (Quality Tourism Services). This sign means the store is reputable (5) and only sells quality (6) products.
认准标识:认准QTS(优质旅游服务)标识。
