Self introduction

　　Ladies and Gentlemen, honorable judgers:

　　Nice to meet you in Beijing. First I’d like to introduce myself, My name is Zhang Xin and I come from Harbin Heilongjiang province. Having been selected to take part in this competition is my great honor, and I would like to take this chance to gain more wonderful experience in my life.

　　I was born in Inner Mongolia and I study at Harbin Normal University Star College. In the past two years I reckon I managed to accomplish many challenges. Now when I look back, I can still see one moment of glory. In May this year, I was selected by Cambridge ESOL as the top 6 finalists to run for a scholarship at Cambridge University.

　　My interest lies not only in English, but also in sports, like bowling, tennis, ice skating these are on top of my list. During holidays, I always travel to different places, these range from famous scenery spots to small cities. I’m mostly fascinated by the unspoiled nature and for me, the biggest happiness is to capture the peaceful moments of nature, and the sound of quietness.

　　Here and today, I will share with you my determination and my love for knowledge. As for determination, I believe I have a strong will and I usually put my wholehearted effort into whatever work I undertake.

　　As far as knowledge concerned, I try to savor each moment in every new discovery. I derive great satisfaction from any accomplishment; However small or simple it may be. I truly believe in that great saying” A life worth living is a life dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge.” I am indeed passionate about the quest. What about you?

　　女士们,先生们,各位尊敬的评委们:

　　很高兴在北京见到你们.首先我来介绍一下自己,我是代表黑龙江省哈尔滨的选手张辛.被选拔来参加决赛是我的荣幸,我希望通过这次比赛能给我增加更多美好的经历.

　　我出生在内蒙古,现在在哈尔滨师范大学恒星学院学习.在过去的两年里,我认为我承担并完成了很多挑战.现在当我回过头,我还能看到那成功的一刻.今年的五月份,我被剑桥海外考试中心选定为全国前六名,并参加争取英国剑桥学习的机会.

　　我不仅喜欢英语,也很喜欢运动,比如保龄球,网球,滑冰;都是我钟爱的体育运动.假期时,我经常去不同的地方旅游,从很著名的景点到一些小城市都是我的足迹,最吸引我的还是纯真的自然美景,对我来说,最大的幸福莫过于去捕捉大自然平和的时刻,还有寂静的声音.

　　今天在这,我将和大家分享我对知识的热情及我坚定的决心.谈到决心,我相信我有坚定的意志并且我通常会全心全力地投入到我从事的工作中.

　　就知识而言,我试着品尝每一刻的新发现.我从成功中得到满足,无论是多么小或多么简单的成功.我真诚地相信这句伟大的格言”人生的价值在于对知识的探索.”我对这样的探索很热情.你呢?
