Introduction
My name is Yuanrui. Some of my relatives often call me Ruirui. I think that is because they hope I can be more clever. I have an English name too. My friends often call me Ralph in English. I am from Guizhou Electrical Vocational & Technical College.
My hometown is Zunyi. I believe that all of you know it if you are familiar with our Chinese history. Yes, it is a very famous city and has a long-history. Although it is not a very large and rich city, I like it.
After a long process of learning, it is my luck to join in the college for my last three years of study before I am rushed by the society.
Before I got into this college, I knew that if I could study English grammar well, I would get a high mark in my university entrance examination and could get a very good result in the future. After that, all of my English teachers did a very good job in speaking and listening. So I have had a lot of practice to make progress in both skills, including speaking English with my teachers as much as I can. Sometimes if I meet a foreigner in the street I always wanted to talk to them. In addition, I often join some English activities which are organized in the school.
I like a well-known sentence very much, which is ‘Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you will get’. This is a really good chance for me to take part in the Third National Practical English Speaking Contest for Professional College Students. And it is my honor to represent my province to join the final competition. I have no shortcut in learning English and just did what I said before.
One of my teachers told me a popular saying, which is ‘If it doesn’t kill you, it makes you stronger’. Yes, there is no difficulty harder than your life; it should not make you depressed when you are in trouble. I think I will face all of the difficulties positively and make myself be stronger; nothing can stop me getting to the top. This is why I choose this to be my slogan. This will be my attitude to face my whole life and also for all of my challenges.
No matter what the result I will get from the competition, I have built up my confidence and know so many friends here. That is already a lot to gain.
Please remember me as an open, active and confident boy who always believes that ‘If it does not kill you, it makes you stronger’. Thank you!
