Australian driver threatens police with snake
An Australian driver threatened police with a live snake afterhewas pulled over for a breath test for driving under theinfluenceof alcohol, police said on Monday.
澳大利亚警方日前透露,该国一名驾车人前不久因涉嫌酒后驾驶而被警察命令将车停靠在路边,并以呼气方式接受血液酒精含量测试,但此人在事后竟突然手持一条活蛇对警察进行恐吓。
The driver in the outback Northern Territory was stoppedonSaturday night by police just outside the city of Darwin aftertheysaw him swerving, police said in a statement.
警方记录显示,这名驾车人是于11日晚在离达尔文市不远处被执勤警察拦截下来的,原因是警察发现他的车偏离了正常的行驶方向。
After registering a blood alcohol level well over the legallimit,the man ran onto the road and picked up a live snake.
对这名男子进行测试后发现,此人血液中的酒精含量已超出法律规定上限,但就在此时,他却突然跑向道路中央并从地上捡起一条活蛇。
The driver allegedly armed himself with a live snake, pointedthehead of the reptile at them and threatened them, saidpolice.
警方表示:“当时在场的警察声称这个人手持一条活蛇跑了回来,并用蛇头指向警察,还对他们进行了恐吓。”
Police told the man to drop the snake, but he ran intobushlandstill carrying it. The man has been charged with drunkendrivingand will appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court.
警察立即命令该男子将蛇放下,但他却带着蛇跑进了路边的灌木丛中。这名男子目前已被有关部门以酒后驾驶的罪名进行起诉,并将于不久后在达尔文市地方治安法庭出庭受审。
