[老外直言]-我为什么选布什(图)

　　我将投布什的票。布什是个诚实的人，他遵从美国正派公民的传统道德原则。我相信———我知道———布什总统承认绝对真理，而这增进了我对他做事的信任。在这个时代，我们不断听说真理是相对的，在我的许多同胞的意识中，作秀的形象已经取代了真理。

　　但是，对我们演讲的布什总统不仅仅是其政治幕僚们所包装出的形象，他是个具有坚强、稳重、值得信赖的品格的人。孤立的反例证明不了什么，我们应该以布什就任总统之前及其入主白宫以来长期的生活方式来对他进行考察。布什明晰的道德观引导着他热爱人民，为人民的福祉工作，并且在其良心和美国正派公民的指引下果断行事。在总统任职期间，布什的观点是一贯的，而且是可预见的，我们美国人不想大吃一惊，我们想按照我们知道并实践着的原则办事。

　　I will vote for George W. Bush. Bush is a truthful man who follows the traditional moral principles of the good people of the United States. I believe -- I know -- that President Bush acknowledges absolutes, and that fosters my faith in his actions. In our time we are constantly told that truth is relative. Image has taken the place of truth in the minds of many of my fellow citizens.

　　But the President Bush who speaks to us is no mere image crafted by political masterminds: he is a man of strong, stable, trustworthy character. Isolated counterexamples prove nothing. Bush should be measured by his lifestyle BEFORE he was president AND since taking office. George Bush's clear ethics guide him to love people, work for their well-being, and act decisively as directed by his heart and the good people of America. As president, Bush has been consistent and predictable. We Americans want no surprises. We want action in accordance with principles we know and live by ourselves.
